Because the heavy work happens on Valmera’s servers, a modest laptop can edit a long recording. What matters most is your upload speed. Your original file is never modified; edits are stored as versions of an edit decision list, and previews use a lightweight proxy.

Upload time is file size divided by your upload speed: bytes × 8 ÷ upload bits per second. An 8 GB file takes about 53 minutes over a steady 20 Mbps upload and about 11 minutes at 100 Mbps, before network overhead. Check your upload speed, not your download speed, and keep the tab open until the upload finishes.
