AI Video Editor Market Map 2026
Sixteen products called “AI video editors” are classified here by what they accept, what they automate, how they charge, how much editorial control remains, and where the finished work goes. The central finding is simple: this is not one software category. A clip generator, transcript suite, post-production agent, browser canvas, and generative shot model should not be ranked as interchangeable tools.
Download the 16-row CSV →Product shape and commercial terms were checked against official vendor pages on August 23–24, 2026. Prices are public USD figures where available; annual-billed monthly equivalents are labeled. This is a source-based market classification, not a paid ranking or hands-on performance benchmark. Valmera is one of the products and the conflict is explicit.
What the Market Map Shows
The 16 products resolve into 13 primary categories using a deliberately strict rule: classify the product by the workflow it makes easiest, not every feature it can technically perform. Three products—OpusClip, Vizard, and Klap—are long-to-short clippers. VEED and Kapwing are broad browser production suites. The remaining products each occupy a more distinct center of gravity, from rough-cut handoff and record-to-repurpose to business text-to-video and agentic post-production.
Pricing is equally fragmented. A monthly price can hide source minutes, generated clips, project counts, media hours, AI credits, seats, model-specific generation rates, storage, export limits, or annual commitment. The useful comparison is reviewed output per real project, not the cheapest number printed on a pricing card.

How to Use the Data
- Filter first by primary input. Footage, speech, a script, a website, and a generative prompt create different evaluation sets.
- Choose the automation relationship: delegated open-ended edit, co-editor, fixed automatic pass, candidate generator, or hands-on editor with AI features.
- Map one representative monthly workload to every meter, including seats, annual billing, storage, export length, and add-ons.
- Run the same source and brief through two finalists, then record setup, correction, approval, and export time.
- Judge the reviewed deliverable. More generated candidates are not more value if a human must repair or discard them.
Methodology and Limitations
Each row uses the vendor's current official product, pricing, documentation, or help material. The primary category is an editorial classification based on the workflow that dominates the product's public interface and commercial model. Products with broad feature sets still receive one primary category so the map remains useful. Public prices are preserved with their billing conditions; ambiguous or interactive prices are described instead of guessed.
The map does not measure output quality, accuracy, latency, reliability, usability, rights safety, or support. It does not normalize credits across vendors because one credit can represent a source minute, a generated clip, a model operation, or an internal cost unit. Product claims can change after the checked date; the official links are included so a reader can verify any commercial decision.
