In Valmera, describe the passage and the change you want, for example: “Keep the explanation, restore the qualifying sentence, fix the spelling of the guest's name in the captions and keep her centered.” The agent edits, renders a preview, checks it and reports back. You can also adjust the timeline and transcript directly.

OpusClip documents adding source sections and trimming, plus rearranging timeline sections. This gives you ways to change a generated selection. Test the exact control on your plan instead of assuming the only option is to regenerate and hope.

Its Virality Score help describes a 0–99 scale available on Starter and Pro. Review context and accuracy even when a clip ranks highly.

For framing, Valmera reframes to 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9 with crop, pad and blurred-pad options; OpusClip publishes plan-dependent tracking and reframing. In either tool, check that a moving subject stays visible through the whole clip. Read Valmera's framing controls before setting the brief.

Make the final file a selection requirement

Valmera exports a full-resolution H.264 MP4 rendered from your original upload, in Studio or over MCP with export_final. It has no editable XML handoff and no SRT/VTT import or export. See the export instructions and limits.

OpusClip also offers posting and scheduling by plan. Valmera supplies a downloadable final that you publish through your chosen destination. If the job requires scheduled posts or subtitle-file delivery, include that requirement before paying for an editing workflow.

For source intake, Valmera accepts uploads up to 14 GB and three hours per file (both limits apply); URL imports have separate restrictions. OpusClip's MCP server and Valmera's do different jobs

OpusClip runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.opus.pro/mcp. You add it to Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or another remote MCP client and sign in with OAuth; no API key is needed. Claude.ai users add OpusClip's separate Claude Connector, where posting and scheduling return a link to confirm in OpusClip. Any account can connect and list the tools, but calling them requires Pro Beta, Max or Business API access.

Its tools are built around clipping. opusclip_submit_project clips a YouTube or Vimeo link (or a file sent through opusclip_create_upload_link), the clips come back ranked with virality scores, opusclip_edit_clip changes captions, trims, section order, filler words and pauses, and opusclip_export_clip returns an HD download URL. Other tools write social copy and post or schedule clips to connected accounts.

Valmera's MCP server, https://valmera.io/mcp/server, edits a whole recording you upload. Specify one clip precisely
Use the same interview in both tools. Request a 60-second vertical clip about one concrete point, with a complete opening and conclusion. Mark a required source passage and a name that must be spelled correctly.

Repair a meaningful mistake
Restore the qualifying sentence if it was omitted, and correct the captioned name. In Valmera, give a specific follow-up note. In OpusClip, use the available transcript or timeline controls. Record whether the meaning and timing are correct after the change.

Check the whole picture and soundtrack
Review the entire clip, including the first and final spoken word. Check the intended subject, caption placement, cuts and music level. Record additional attempts and manual work instead of assuming the first result is accepted.
