AI Video Editor Pricing: 16 Tools Compared

To budget for AI video editing, compare the subscription, the work it meters, and the file you need to deliver. A low annual equivalent is useful only if the commitment and allowance fit your workload. This guide separates monthly prices, annual totals, free restrictions and three practical cost calculations.

Official sources checked September 7, 2026. Written by Valmera, which sells one of the products below. Prices and documented limits were reviewed; we did not run a timed or quality benchmark across all 16 products. The order is alphabetical.

Monthly prices and annual commitments

These are selected public plans. US$ means US dollars; the Adobe and Canva observations are UAE offers in AED. Country, app store, selected allowance, tax treatment and promotions can change the final quote. Every product name links to its official pricing source. Annual totals calculated from a monthly equivalent use twelve months; equivalents calculated from a billed total are rounded to two decimals.

What the selected plans meter

ProductAllowance and limits
Adobe PremiereDesktop/mobile Premiere and Adobe Express Premium; a monthly charge does not mean a monthly commitment
CanvaDesign/video tools and a shared AI allowance; AI Pass is an additional purchase
CapCutOfficial guidance says region, device and promotions affect pricing; no universal dollar price quoted here
ClipchampFree exports up to 1080p; premium features and 4K require the applicable subscription
Descript10 media hours and 400 AI credits/month; 1080p watermark-free exports. Creator: $35 monthly or $288/year, with 30 hours, 800 credits and 4K
GlingUp to 10 hours of AI-edited media/month, or 300 generated words, or a mixture; these are not independent pools
InVideo750 credits/month and watermark-free exports; model and workflow usage consume credits. The annual card rounds its equivalent to $17
Kapwing1,000 credits/month; paid exports up to 120 minutes and 4K. Business: $64 monthly or $600/year, with 4,000 monthly credits
OpusClipAnnual Pro lists 3,600 credits available at once. Starter is a separate $15 monthly plan with 150 credits/month
PictoryScript/URL creation: 200 video minutes on monthly billing, or 2,400/year on annual billing. Recorded-video editing has a separate 60-minute input cap on Starter
RiversideOne studio and 15 hours of separate-track downloads/month; recording itself is unlimited. Current lineup: Pro, Grow, Webinar, Business
Runway625 credits/month; model-specific generation costs. 4K upscaling is not a promise of native 4K generation
Submagic15 videos/month, up to two minutes each. Magic Clips is a separate add-on: $19 monthly or $12/mo on annual billing
Valmera1,000 editing credits every month; processing and revisions affect use. New checkouts have no trial
VEED500 AI credits on monthly billing; annual card lists 6,000/year and rounds its monthly equivalent to $10. Paid exports omit the VEED watermark
VizardOne credit equals one uploaded video minute. Creator includes watermark-free exports up to 4K; higher allowance selections cost more

These products overlap, but the work is different. Editing recorded speech, selecting clips, creating synthetic shots and recording a remote interview do not have interchangeable billing units. Use the editor-versus-generator guide to define the task before choosing a price.

Descript Free conflict, rechecked September 8, 2026: its current pages disagree on branding and AI-credit renewal. Read the two-source comparison and verify the actual account.

Kapwing credit conflict: its pricing card shows 10 credits; the August 24 credit help article says 50 lifetime credits. We cannot establish a recurring free allowance from those conflicting statements. Confirm the account balance and grant period.

A watermark, a branded ending, a stock-asset restriction and a resolution cap are different delivery conditions. For Valmera, the standard paid-plan policy omits overlay watermarks, but service settings can override it. Inspect the actual final file for branding and any end card. See the export guide and recorded example.

Three worked editing budgets

The calculations below are quota checks and purchasing examples. They do not establish speed, accuracy, output quality or the cheapest provider.

Four 70-minute recordings per month

Four recordings contain 280 input minutes, or 4 hours 40 minutes. That fits Gling Plus's ten-hour editing allowance if you do not also consume it on generation. It also fits the selected Vizard Creator allowance of 600 monthly upload-minutes. Different editing and clipping workflows still need a representative test.

Pictory illustrates a different constraint: a 70-minute recording exceeds Starter's 60-minute recorded-video input cap before the monthly allowance matters. Its Professional tier lists 180-minute recorded-video inputs; the separate script-to-video workflow has its own duration limit. Read the workflow-specific comparison.

Thirty one-minute videos that need captions and translation

At Kapwing's published rates, transcribing 30 minutes uses 30 credits, and translating those subtitles into one language uses 60 more: 90 credits total. This assumes exactly that workload, excludes regeneration and other tools, and uses the documented credit rates. The same 90 credits cannot be translated into Valmera, Runway or InVideo output minutes.

For Submagic's web Starter plan, 30 separate videos exceed the 15-video monthly quota even though every video is below its two-minute cap. Count videos as well as duration. Do not assume a long-video clipping add-on is included in a captioning subscription.

Three editors, but only a three-month project

Kapwing Pro's three monthly seats cost 3 × $24 × 3 = $216 for those three months. Three annual seats cost 3 × $192 = $576 for a year. The annual equivalent is lower per month, but requires paying for a longer period. This calculation covers seats only; confirm the workspace's actual usage pool and other constraints in the plan documentation.

Three separate solo accounts are not automatically a shared workspace. Valmera currently has no team seats or shared project workspaces. If simultaneous collaboration is required, that requirement should decide eligibility before comparing subscription totals.

Budgeting a Valmera edit

Creator is $15 monthly or $150 yearly with 1,000 credits every month; Pro is $30 or $300 with 2,000; Frontier is $50 or $500 with 5,000. Annual payment does not turn these into a single upfront annual editing-credit pool. The current plan offer and account state govern access.

There is no reliable published conversion from those credits to a fixed number of finished videos. Processing, source complexity and revision requests affect use. Start with a representative brief, inspect the preview, record usage, then create and inspect the final MP4 in Studio. Each original upload must satisfy both the 14GB and three-hour limits.

Include finishing work in the estimate. Studio does not provide SRT/VTT subtitle-file export or a shared team workspace. A client requiring either may need another delivery tool. The final-file example shows one real trim-and-reframe result; it is not a general price, speech-editing or speed benchmark.

How to compare the cost of a finished edit

  1. 1
    Write the delivery requirement
Specify the source duration and file size, number of finished videos, aspect ratios, resolution, captions or subtitle files, branding requirements, and number of editors.
  2. 2
    Record the actual offer
Keep the dated official source, currency, plan, billing period and total. Distinguish a yearly purchase from an annual contract billed in installments. Include selected usage tiers and add-ons.
  3. 3
    Measure a representative edit
Use eligible footage and check the starting and ending usage balance. Include revision attempts and a complete final download. Record review time and whether the delivered file meets the brief.
  4. 4
    Calculate accepted-output cost
Add subscription allocation, usage charges, required add-ons and human review cost, then divide by the number of deliverables that pass your checks. Forecast only workloads reasonably similar to the sample.

Check cancellation, credit expiry and file retention separately

Before subscribing, record the paid-through date, renewal rule, credit reset period and project-retention period from the actual offer. Cancelling renewal does not establish when editing access ends, whether unused credits remain usable or how long files are retained. An annual commitment paid monthly also differs from a cancellable monthly subscription.

For an agent-managed workflow, store these fields with the dated source URL and mark uncertain terms explicitly. Confirm API or MCP access, account authorization and final delivery separately from consumer-plan pricing. A working public pricing page is not proof of an authenticated editing integration.

Frequently Asked Questions

The selected monthly USD plans in this comparison start at $15, but a useful budget depends on the job, usage and required export. Annual equivalents can be lower and require a different commitment. Regional Adobe and Canva quotes are shown in AED separately. These are selected plans, not a universal market minimum.
There is no measured cheapest editor for every workload. A free editor can be sufficient for basic cuts, while captioning, long inputs, model generation, team seats or subtitle-file delivery may require a different plan. Compare the total cost of accepted deliverables, including review and revisions, rather than a price per nominal credit.
Usually the displayed monthly figure is an equivalent for an annual purchase. Read the total and commitment separately. Adobe's UAE Premiere quote here is an annual contract paid monthly; it is not the same offer as a month-to-month subscription. The table labels that distinction.
No. A Vizard credit represents an uploaded video minute, while Kapwing publishes different rates for transcription, translation and dubbing. Generative products vary by model, duration and settings. Valmera usage depends on AI processing and revisions. Equal credit counts do not establish equal output or value.
The official sources disagree at this check: the pricing card says 10 credits, while the August 24 help article says 50 lifetime credits. Neither supports our former claim of 10 credits every month. Confirm the allowance displayed in your account before budgeting free AI work.
New Valmera checkouts do not include a trial. Account creation and uploads are free; agent editing requires a subscription and available credits. Creator is $15 monthly or $150 yearly, with 1,000 credits every month. A fixed number of finished videos per plan is not guaranteed.
Cancellation, plan expiry, credit expiry and project retention are separate events. Their dates depend on the provider and contract. Check the paid-through date, renewal status, any annual commitment, unused-credit rules and file-retention policy. Download required deliverables before the relevant access or retention period ends.
Record the source URL and observation date, country and currency, plan name, seat count, commitment, actual billed total, usage unit and reset period, input and export limits, required add-ons and final-file format. Mark missing or conflicting terms explicitly. A public consumer subscription does not by itself establish API or MCP access.
