Does "cut 0:12 to 0:47" mean keep it or delete it?

It is ambiguous, so say which: "keep only 0:12 to 0:47" keeps the excerpt; "remove 0:12 to 0:47" deletes it. If the times come from the edited preview rather than the original recording, say "of the edited video".

Can I remove a section from the middle?

Yes. Give the range or describe the passage and the agent joins what is left. Speech cuts land on word boundaries; listen across the join to check that the context still makes sense.

Five Ways to Describe a Cut

Original Time vs Edited Time

Once anything is cut, a moment has two timestamps: where it sits in the original recording, and where it plays in the edited video. Say which one you mean. Here is a 20-second recording after removing 0:03–0:05:

Common Mistakes

“Cut 0:12–0:47.” Keep or delete? Say “keep only” or “remove.”
Mixing clocks. Times read off the preview are edited-video time after the first cut.
Cutting to a number. Name what must survive; a shorter video that loses its point is not better.
Many single cuts for dead air. Use silence removal to clean every pause in one pass.

Limits

Cuts are hard splices; there is no true crossfade or dissolve. Removing time from a single-camera shot creates a jump cut, which you can cover with b-roll or a punch-in (see the jump cut editor). Uploads are capped at 14 GB and 3 hours per file.
