Which approach fits your recording?
Consider Valmera when you want to direct edits of an existing recording and inspect the result in Studio. You can request cuts, word-timed captions, reframing and music ducking, then refine through chat or direct controls. Music comes from your own file or web sources. The transcript is editable, but words and timings can be wrong; review the names, numbers and cut boundaries that matter.
Consider Captions when an AI Edit style is a useful starting point for a short clip. Its documented web workflow includes an upload, prompt, style choice and review of proposed cuts, with controls for changing the plan and added media. Read the Captions AI Edit workflow.
If you need a generated presenter, check Captions' actor and AI Twin options and the required plan. Valmera does not offer that presenter workflow. If you need to preserve a filmed speaker's exact meaning, assess the actual edited passage in either product before adding decorative effects.
Long videos: distinguish upload from feature limits
Valmera's main upload accepts MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM and MKV and must satisfy both the 14 GB and 3-hour limits. A large upload allowance does not predict processing time, editing accuracy or the cost of revisions. For a full interview, identify the passages that must stay and listen around every removed section.
Captions' AI Edit requirements recommend a single speaker and clips of three minutes or less, but the same paragraph says inputs over two minutes can be trimmed. That guidance does not establish one duration ceiling for every Captions feature or import. Check the selected workflow with your actual file. See the current requirements.
When comparing clip workflows, ask for a complete idea with its necessary context. Valmera can seed multiple child clip projects from a source; each still needs its own edit, review and final Studio export. A set of proposed excerpts is an intermediate result.
Pricing: verify the tier that includes chat editing

Captions' Basic plan, formerly Pro, is listed at $9.99/month with 200 credits. The subscription guide assigns Chat to Edit, AI Edit and generated actors to Max and above. A Basic price alone therefore does not describe the full chat-editing workflow. Check Captions plan entitlements.
Captions' Max prices differ across its official pages. The public pricing page and credit guide list $24.99/month with 500 credits; the subscription guide lists $29.99 with 500. The public pricing page says its prices and features apply to iOS. Confirm your account's checkout price, device support and included features.
Captions' credit guide lists charges for messages, editing actions and generated assets. Valmera charges according to the AI work performed. Credits are not interchangeable between products. Track the initial edit, corrections and any added media to estimate the cost of a finished video; headline allowances alone cannot establish better value.
Watermarks, end cards and final delivery
The standard Valmera paid-plan policy omits overlay watermarks, but service settings can override it. Inspect the actual final file for branding and any end card. Create the final MP4 in Studio after review; it renders from the original upload. Captions in that file are burned into the picture. Studio does not import or export SRT/VTT subtitle files.
Captions' subscription guide permits watermark-free exports using supported free features. Its watermark troubleshooting guide says using Max-only features on Basic can add a watermark; removing those features or upgrading is the documented remedy. Review the particular project, since a plan's general export promise does not override feature restrictions.
For assistant-driven work, Valmera's MCP connection provides direct editing tools and previews; final export remains a Studio step. Tell the assistant the required delivery format and who will perform that final step. Inspect the exported file, including its end card, before handing it to a client or posting it.

Turn this recording into a 45-second vertical clip. Keep my actual words and the qualification after the main claim. Trim the opening silence, add readable captions and keep the product visible. Use only the footage I uploaded, with no generated presenter.
- Check that the edit preserves the point and the qualification.
- Make a specific correction: restore a phrase, fix a product name or reposition a caption. Check the resulting frames and audio.
- Export on the intended plan. Check readability, music if added, framing, watermark and ending.
- Record credits and review time, then choose the workflow that reaches your required result.
Valmera's edit records and verification checks help with review, but do not guarantee a correct video. Judge the rendered file in both products.
