How the tools work
- Read first. The agent reads the word-level transcript, looks at frames and measures the audio before it changes anything.
- Every change is a version. Edits write a new version of a non-destructive edit decision list. The original file is never modified and any cut can be restored.
- It checks its own work. The agent renders a preview, inspects frames and audio, audits captions, and repairs problems before it reports back.
- Slow work runs as a job. Renders and pixel repainting return a job that finishes in the background.
- Same tools everywhere. Studio’s agent and MCP assistants use the same tools. A tool whose backing service is unavailable is hidden rather than offered and failing.

Reading the footage
Before it edits, the agent reads the transcript, sees the frames and measures the audio, so it can cut on word edges and aim at real things. What analysis produces.

Are the MCP tools the same ones Valmera's own agent uses?
Yes. The MCP server exposes the same editing tools and implementations as Valmera's in-house agent. The one thing MCP can't do is hand a request to that agent; your assistant edits with the tools directly.
Can my AI assistant export the final video?
Yes. It calls export_final for the reviewed version, waits with wait_for_job, then gets the file from download_url.
