For social content, test the automatic selection first and then make a deliberate correction. That reveals whether the combination of generated clips and direct controls fits your workflow better than repeatedly asking for revisions.

Compare editors on your own footage
Use a recording you are allowed to upload, containing the problems you edit regularly: a repeated take, a quiet sentence, an unfamiliar name, a slide or a subject near the edge of the frame. A clean promotional sample may hide the decisions that consume your time.
- Define one deliverable. Specify the target duration, aspect ratio, caption treatment and export format. Separate a social cut from a request to generate new imagery; those are different jobs.
- Keep the brief and source consistent. For tools with different controls, translate the same requirements into prompts or editor settings. Record what you had to do manually.
- Make one deliberate revision. Restore a phrase, fix a name and adjust a crop. Judge whether the change survives the next edit and the final export.
- Watch the whole output. Check the opening and ending, speech context, caption timing, framing and audio. Look at the downloaded file, including any watermark or end card.
